Roger Preece founded ThinkingLife in 2003 whilst studying at Oxford University. After many years of looking at the area of personal effectiveness, he wanted to find a way of helping people and organisations develop in an effective and balanced way. His studies in theology have developed his interest in the interface between business and spirituality. He has recently been offering training and coaching through ‘The Leadership Community’ based on the theories of human ecology developed by Simon Walker.

He was previously a founder of Capco, the global financial markets solutions company, www.capco.com. He set up the Capco Institute, the research, training and vision organisation dedicated to promoting understanding of financial markets change which trained over 800 consultants worldwide in business and consulting skills. Coaching was one of the key tools used in supporting Capco’s effective growth. He also managed global alliances and took responsibility for strategic business development.

Roger was previously MD and Head of Operations at Sumitomo Finance, where he was responsible for finance, technology and operations. At Bank of America, he was responsible for product and market development for European capital markets. Prior to that he developed his expertise in strategy consulting and project delivery at Accenture.

Roger is an experienced speaker on business and personal effectiveness. He is a co-author of the Euromoney book; Forming the Future of Finance and was previously an Editor of the Capco Institute Journal of Financial Transformation. He is an ordained minister in the Church of England and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He holds degrees in engineering from Imperial College, London and theology from Oxford University. He is a trained singer and enjoys performing from opera to rap. He is married with three daughters.
